Love Your Skin: The Benefits of Dry Brushing
Skin care is a big part of healthy self-care. I think a lot of us tend to look at skin care from a “beauty” perspective (which makes sense, because healthy skin is beautiful). For beauty purposes, then, we do our makeup, maybe add some moisturizer, and let it go at that.

An Active Experience of Gratitude
We all know it’s important to be grateful for what we have. It’s a very basic concept, one that we confront practically every day. Everything from desktop backgrounds to throw pillows seems to feature flowy scripts of “Thankful,” Grateful” or “#Blessed.”
But how many of us actually practice gratitude? I don’t mean just allowing grateful thoughts to flow passively through your subconscious (although the more of those, the better too!). I’m talking about an intentional, daily, pen-and-paper (or button-to-finger) ritual of spelling out the things you’re grateful for.
This does take work, of course, but really only about five minutes out of the 1,440 in your day. And it doesn’t have to be a master list of all the things in your life that you’re grateful for - making one of those definitely takes more than five minutes! For this short, daily gratitude ritual, all you have to do is write down three things you’re grateful for that day. It can be major stuff, like a fun day playing with the kids at the beach, or something insignificant, like our hall light finally getting fixed.
Letting Your Oral Health Scrape You By?
You may be missing a really important component in your oral hygiene routine- your tongue! Your dentist probably never mentioned tongue scraping to you, but it’s actually one of the most important areas of your mouth that requires cleaning! Your tongue is your immune system's FIRST line of defense in fighting pathogens, bacteria and viruses. It harbors the bacteria and toxins that can lead to poor overall health and disease, digestive problems (your gut health begins in the mouth!), and dental problems like cavities and gum disease. Dirty tongues are also the cause of Bad Breath🤭. Read all about the 6 reasons tongue hygiene is essential for your health with an easy guide included for the best way to clean your tongue.
Sucker for Sweets?
Can’t stop craving Sugar? Not only does the notorious “sweet tooth” cause cavities (as a Dentist I’ve seen many!), it also often carries with it psychological repercussions: feelings of guilt and self shame over lack of “self control.” But what those suffering from sugar addiction don’t realize is that it’s not them lacking self control. Sugar is a drug that hijacks your brain’s chemistry (and your taste buds) in the same way drugs do. It’s chemically engineered by scientists in labs to specifically get you addicted, so you crave and crave and BUY some more! Read more to see how you can have your cake and eat it too.

Get Your House Salad (Bar) on!
Are the days of pre-covid salad bars behind us? People are now wary of hitting up salad bars like Sweetgreen, Chopt and Tender Greens, and especially the self-serve ones in Whole Foods and other gourmet supermarkets. There is simply nothing less appetizing than eating food that’s been laying out in the open all day, exposed to all the possible (viral) germs. While the ease and convenience of these vegetable havens remarkably increased the number of people turning to much healthier fast food options, corona fears are surpassing those of longer term health consequences caused by poor fast food choices. But suppose you can have a customized salad bar that’s personally tailored with all your favorite organic fresh foods, prepared to your exact preference, with even more ease and convenience?
