Hello! I’m Dr. Diane Neman, certified Holistic Nutritionist and Health and Wellness Coach. Growing up, I watched my father build a successful dental practice, and inspired by his expert and empathetic care for his patients, I decided to follow in his footsteps. After graduating cum laude from NYU with a BA in English & American Literature and a Pre-med concentration, I earned my Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry. I completed my residency at Lutheran Medical Center, with advanced educational training in Public Healthcare at NYU’s Langone Health-Heritage Community Health Center. As an American Board Certified Dentist, I joined my father’s practice: Modern Dentistry in Brooklyn, New York.

During my years there,  I came to realize that for me, the most rewarding part of dentistry was building strong relationships with my patients. I felt most fulfilled when I worked one-on-one with each patient, to ensure that they received individually-tailored, quality, comprehensive care that truly helped them.

However, during  all my years of intense academic study, residency, and practice, I had lived off of coffee and processed fast foods, and as a result, I always felt burnt out and exhausted. That unhealthy dynamic gave way to a vicious cycle of more caffeine, more junk food, and more chronic, endless fatigue. I felt imprisoned by the constant need to escape for short naps and caffeinated boosts to get me through the days.

Eventually, my husband and I welcomed our first child, and relocated to Miami, Florida, so I paused my career to stay at home full time. Shortly after that, I was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease, an autoimmune condition affecting the thyroid. By the time our second child was born, I was fed up with perpetually feeling exhausted and unwell. The synthetic hormone medications prescribed by my doctor didn’t seem to help my symptoms. Finally, I decided to take charge of my own health, this time with a more holistic approach.

Motivated by the desire to have enough energy for my two young children, I changed my entire lifestyle to focus on healthy nutrition and proper fitness. The transformation was remarkable! My thyroid was finally under control, and I felt more energized, alert, and empowered than ever before. I was able to show up for myself, my children, and my family as the best possible version of myself.

This personal experience with the healing powers of proper nutrition, led me to pursue my true passion: helping people lead healthier lifestyles and happier lives by being the best, healthiest version of themselves.

I went on to study nutrition and received accreditation as a Holistic Nutritionist and Health and Wellness Coach from the Integrative Institute of Nutrition. As a certified health, wellness and nutrition coach, I’ve  trained in over 100 dietary theories, practical lifestyle management techniques, and innovative coaching methods from the world’s leading doctors and health and wellness experts. Plus, my training in medicine and dentistry has given me an extensive knowledge base, from understanding the body’s mechanisms, the oral gut health connection, digestion and metabolism, to treating countless patients that didn’t just have dental issues, but metabolic and chronic conditions such as heart disease and diabetes.

When working with clients, I apply the model of Functional Medicine, which focuses on the root causes of illness, addressing the body as a whole, integrative system that begins its healing through proper nutrition. Through nutritional, health and wellness coaching, I help my clients make better choices, and create sustainable, long-lasting healthy habits. And individuality is a cornerstone of that coaching process! I firmly believe that individually tailoring each program helps my clients reach their specific health goals,  from weight loss, improvement in energy levels , and digestion, to managing health conditions such as high blood sugar and chronic illness.

Through tactical support, practical advice, and strategic accountability, I guide my clients through their individualized programs, helping them to create lasting, sustainable, healthy lifestyles.

Currently, I’m working on my Master’s Degree in Applied Nutrition at Northeastern University, as well as accreditation from Precision Nutrition. I personally lead a diet focusing on unprocessed, natural, whole foods, and enjoy creating content to share with my community, much of which I share on my Instagram account: @dr.dianeneman. My workout regimen consists of cardio, strength training, and weight lifting. In my free time, I enjoy Latin-American Ballroom dance, cooking delicious meals, and spending time with family and friends (preferably on the beach!).
